Project Overview. This project involved the complete transformation of an aging and neglected bar in the Seville metropolitan area into a contemporary brunch café designed around wellness, community and elevated hospitality experiences. The objective was to create a destination that feels warm, vibrant and connected to nature while maintaining a refined, high-end aesthetic.
The renovation included a full spatial redesign, the introduction of custom architectural elements, a bespoke terracotta-tiled bar, integrated banquette seating, sculptural wall treatments, curated lighting design and biophilic planting. By combining Mediterranean craftsmanship with contemporary hospitality design principles, the project establishes a distinctive identity that supports both the operational needs of the venue and the emotional experience of its guests.
ApproachA holistic design approach combining spatial storytelling, hospitality strategy, and sensory experience.
Research focused on the evolving brunch culture within Southern Spain and the growing demand for hospitality environments that combine healthy lifestyles with elevated design experiences. Local architectural traditions, Mediterranean material palettes and regional craftsmanship informed the design language, ensuring the project felt authentic to its context while offering a contemporary interpretation.
❋ Market & Cultural ResearchThe concept was developed around the rituals associated with slow mornings, healthy dining and social connection. Natural materials, soft lighting and abundant planting were used to create a calming atmosphere that encourages guests to linger, relax and engage with the space throughout the day. The design balances energy and comfort, supporting both individual visitors and larger social gatherings.
❋ Immersive RitualsWorking closely with the project manager and construction team, the concept was carried through every stage of development, from initial vision to final implementation. Collaboration included architectural interventions, material sourcing, lighting specification, furniture selection, custom detailing and construction coordination. This integrated approach ensured that the original design intent was maintained throughout the renovation process and translated successfully into the finished hospitality environment.
❋ Collaborative IntegrationThe spatial layout was carefully reconfigured to improve flow, visibility and comfort. A new storefront opening was introduced to increase daylight and establish a stronger connection to the street. Upon entering, guests are welcomed by the sculptural bar and layered lighting composition, while integrated seating, architectural arches and strategically positioned planting create a sequence of experiences that guide movement through the space and encourage exploration.
❋ Guest Journey MappingThe design narrative merges Mediterranean warmth with contemporary tropical influences, reflecting the café's focus on fresh, healthy food and modern hospitality. Terracotta tones, handcrafted finishes, natural timber, marble surfaces and oversized tropical planting establish a visual language that feels both sophisticated and approachable. Custom sculptural wall elements introduce a unique identity while reinforcing themes of nature, growth and organic form.
